Liberating Structures are refreshing, easy-to-learn microstructures that enhance relational coordination and trust between people. Usually, interactions are organized (meetings, workshops, etc.) either too inhibiting (presentations, status reports, and managed discussions) or too loose and disorganized (open discussions and brainstorms).

Liberating Structures instantly foster lively participation in groups of any size, making it possible to include and unleash everyone truly. Liberating structures are disruptive innovations that can replace more controlling or constraining approaches.

Liberating Structures are easy-to-learn, effective facilitation techniques for interaction and conversation in small and large groups. You can quickly start experimenting with these without explaining them too much!

TRAINING? WORKSHOP?

  • We offer in-person and online (virtual) immersive workshops. All workshops are interactive, and you’ll be fully immersed in Liberating Structures.
  • We offer tailored facilitation (in-person and virtual) to host workshops, events, and sessions to address a specific challenge or meet a specific purpose.
  • We also organize dedicated sessions holding a Liberating Structures Experiential Design Space, where you can design your string (sequence) of Liberating Structures with a specific purpose in mind and/or come and practice facilitating Liberating Structures in a group. To participate in this workshop, you don’t need to have experience with Liberating Structures (you can learn from others), or you can come and practice any structure you like! We also invite people to volunteer as facilitators.

APPROACH & MATERIALS

  • The approach includes a collective design of the workshop or session to meet your needs.
